Appointment of new Window & Door Centre Manager
Crystal are pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Cornwall as our new Window & Door Centre Manager.
Kevin will be responsible for the strategic leadership of the Window & Door Centres and will contribute to the overall growth strategy, helping Crystal achieve further success within the merchant sector across the UK.
With extensive experience within the fenestration industry, from extrusion to fabrication and multi-channel distribution, Kevin has established a solid track record in both sales and operational management. For the last 16 years he has delivered exceptional growth in the trade counter channel and was key to creating a value proposition, broadening the product offering and developing operation processes. In his capacity as Sales Director, his consistent delivery of targeted revenue supported more than 13 years of consecutive commercial growth.
Kevin spearheaded an aggressive growth programme which quadrupled turnover and doubled the location footprint nationally. Key to all this success was the successful recruitment of the regional staff.
When asked about his appointment, Kevin said “I’m incredibly excited and very much looking forward to the challenge. I’ve worked in the industry for many years and continue my journey of success in an exciting and new channel and the goal is to have a significant presence in the UK supply chain with solidity and profitability at is core.
I am confident Crystal have the winning formula when it comes to its products and services within the merchant sector and I have joined a progressive company at a very exciting time, I’m also looking forward to working with the team here as I pride myself in people development, demonstrated by having mentoring and training at the heart of my leadership approach”.

Green Homes Voucher Scheme - the steps to unlocking new customers
What’s on offer?
From September 2020 to March 2021 homeowners and landlords are able to apply for a GHGS voucher to fund up to two thirds of the total cost up to a maximum of £5,000. Low income households are eligible to claim up to 100% funding, to the value of £10,000.
Great news is that the replacement of single to double or triple glazed windows is included!
How to get involved
TrustMark and the BMF have teamed up to provide all the information you need to check whether you are already certified or need training to become certified. This leaflet will help you identify what steps you need to take.
Already certified - Businesses already UKAS PAS 2030 or MCS certified and are TrustMark registered, meet the required certification for the GHGS and can take advantage of the GHGS opportunity and offer their services to eligible customers. Having a PAS2030 certification and TrustMark approved status, will not only enable your business to support customers with their energy efficiency, Zero-net and Retrofit projects, but will also provide your customers with a greater level of confidence, that their work will be performed to the highest standards available.
Becoming certified - New businesses wishing to become part of the GHGS must have PAS 2030:2019 certification. Becoming TrustMark - If your business holds PAS2030:2017 or PAS2030:2019 certification, you can apply for TrustMark registration. This can be achieved through your certification body. Once registered with TrustMark your business will be eligible to support GHGS customers now and in the future.

Crystal's purchases Supercut 6 from Avantek Machinery
As part of Crystal’s philosophy of continued investment and improvement, we have recently purchased the Supercut 6 from Avantek Machinery. The Supercut 6 is a purpose built, technologically advanced machining centre, custom built for the UK PVC-U window industry.
The new Supercut 6 will have a phenomenal effect on productivity. By speeding up the line and increasing output it will enable us to improve workflow, accuracy and ensure all of our windows and doors have the same high standard of finish – whilst improving our current lead times. The Supercut 6 is also very energy efficient with fully integrated dynamic batch optimisation software ensuring the best use of materials and reducing wastage. It also has an automatic feed table folding up to 10 profile lengths, giving the ability to machine and cut simultaneously allowing for greater output. And with automatic labelling – the Supercut 6 will ensure Crystal can continue to supply its customers with high quality products in the future.

Crystal Continues to Strengthen Board - September 2018
Crystal Direct, suppliers of made to measure PVC-U and aluminium windows and doors to the Merchant sector are delighted to announce the appointment of Kevin Morgan as Commercial Director.
Kevin has been recruited to oversee and continue to develop Crystal’s Approved Installer scheme, which provides a national fitting service to its Builders Merchant customers. Kevin has a wealth of installation experience, organising and running service offerings for Blue Chip companies including MFI, Homebase and more recently Kingfisher B&Q, where he created, led and grew a new set of installation services for B&Q Homefit.

New Chairman appointed at the Crystal Clear Group - September 2018
Tim Allen the recently retired Chairman of NMBS has been appointed Non-Executive Chairman of Crystal Clear Group Limited. His appointment commenced 1st September. Crystal is the leading supplier of PVC-U and aluminium windows, doors and conservatories to builders, supplied directly via builders’ merchants. The position is a new one reflecting the Group’s continued growth and future direction, with current Chairman Martin Randall now assuming the role of CEO.
Tim is extremely well known within the merchant sector and is an experienced Non-Executive Chairman and Finance Director of both UK and international businesses, with a strong commercial and accounting focus, and a passion for building successful enterprises. He spent 20 years with Williams Holdings, a major FTSE 100 Group, and was Director of Corporate Finance, responsible for over £2 billion of acquisitions and £3 billion of disposals performed all over the world. Williams built up one of the most impressive collections of branded building products businesses in the late 1980s and 1990s with brands such as Crown Berger Paints, Cuprinal, Rawlplug , Swish, Valor, Chubb, Yale and Kidde, now one of America’s largest manufacturers of smoke alarms and fire safety equipment.
Since Williams, Tim has specialised as an investor and non-executive director, building a portfolio of companies. As chairman he sold Birchwood Products – a group that owned brands such as Defender, Rhino, and Scruffs to the BSS Group and more recently Anchor Fast Products a specialist outdoor furniture manufacturer
